Our Music Director

Lawrence Zukof (Larry) has performed extensively with numerous renowned professional performing groups on recorder, voice, and viola da gamba. He toured the US and Europe with the Boston Camerata and has been a recorder soloist with the Civic Orchestra of Boston, Orchestra New England, the Baroque Orchestra of Holy Lutheran and Trinity Church (NYC), and the Southern CT Camerata. He has sung with the Pro-Arte Singers, Connecticut’s professional chamber choir and with Yale Camerata, the Yale Chamber Chorus and sings at the historic Center Church on the New Haven Green.

Larry is a long-time guest workshop leader for various American Recorder Society (ARS) chapters in the NY metro and NE regions and is currently the music director of the Eastern CT Recorder Society, He is on faculty at Pinewoods Early Music week (music director from 2015-2017), and has taught at Amherst Early Music Festival, Ann Arbor Recorder Festival, for the North American Virtual Recorder Society, Junior Recorder Society and other workshops. Larry currently makes semi-annual visits to Maine through the ARS Traveling Teacher Program, working with recorders, string players and singers. He teaches privately and at the Neighborhood Music School (New Haven, CT).

Larry received his Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music (Boston, MA) in early music (recorder, viola da gamba, and voice) and continues his musical journey as a passionate violin student playing with the Civic Orchestra of New Haven.

He was the Executive Director of the Neighborhood Music School (1996-2014) and the Brookline Music School, MA (1984-1996)

Our Services
